Animal Endocrine Clinic

The Animal Endocrine Clinic is the only animal hospital in the world devoted exclusively to diagnosis and treatment of dogs and cats with endocrine (hormonal) problems. Our clinic is a referral hospital and we work closely with your regular veterinarian to provide the best care for your pet. The AEC is comprised on 3 subdivisions: .....1) An outpatient Endocrinology clinic for dogs and cats; ......2) Hypurrcat, a radioiodine treatment center for cats with hyperthyroidism; and ......3) Nuclear Imaging for Animals for thyroid, liver, kidney or bone imaging (scanning). Common hormonal problems that Dr. Mark Peterson specializes in include the following: .....Diabetes mellitus in dogs and cats .....Hyperthyroidism in cats (overactive thyroid gland) - .....Hypothyroidism in dogs (underactive thyroid gland) .....Hypercalcemia (high blood calcium) and hypocalcemia (low blood calcium) .....Cushing's syndrome in dogs and cats (excessive cortisol production) .....Addison's disease in dogs and cats (cortisol deficiency) .....Pituitary disorders (diabetes insipidus, pituitary tumors).
